The Cottages of Middleton is well known throughout the Treasure Valley as being one of the best Assisted Living and Memory Care homes around! Located in the heart of Middleton, just off of Main street, it’s hard to miss. The history of The Cottages began with the first campus, built in Emmett, Idaho in 2001. Roughly four years later, The Cottages of Middleton would open!
The Cottages of Middleton’s History
The Cottages of Middleton became the sixth Cottages campus in the span of a four year period. By this time, The Cottages of Emmett, Weiser, Payette, Mountain Home, and Meridian were already operating, with many seniors proud to call The Cottages their home. The Middleton campus consists of one building where 16 residents can reside.
The Cottages of Middleton is known for their robust activities, specialized care, especially in memory care, and being a national award-winning recipient. The team has been awarded the National Bronze Quality Award from the National Center for Assisted Living. It is difficult to receive this award and demonstrates the conscientious care the team provides with their ability to meet rigorous quality guidelines. In addition to the Bronze award, they have been recipients of the Silver Star Award from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, received after undergoing the state survey process.
The residents that reside at the Middleton campus frequently go on exciting bus rides. These outings might include Babby Farms, visiting scenic areas such as Lucky Peak, Black Canyon, the countryside, cultural centers, museums, restaurants, entertainment centers, and more. However, the fun doesn’t stop there. Every day, the quality of life director, who has been with The Cottages for over seven years, plans a variety of activities the residents love. It is common for entertainers to come and serenade everyone by singing and playing musical instruments. And every once in a while, animals such as birds, rabbits, dogs, and even reindeer make a visit. The residents like to care for the flowers and plants around the property and enjoy the garden boxes. The gazebo is frequently used for relaxation and some of the residents enjoy daily walks.

The community is very supportive of The Cottages, our residents, and team. It is common for the local schools, businesses, and individuals to bring flowers, treats, and thoughtful gifts by.
What Stands Out About The Middleton Area?
The Middleton area is one of the fastest growing areas in the Treasure Valley. The population has nearly doubled in the last ten years, amounting to a population of 10,651.¹ Middleton is considered a rural area and is surrounded by rolling hills and scenic views of the mountains. Middleton is part of Canyon County, and a person can drive to Caldwell or Nampa within 20 minutes.
There are several things to do when visiting or living in Middleton. These might include Sunnyslope Wine Trail, Middleton Place Park, Centennial Grove Park, Macpaca Farms, Indian Creek Plaza, Babby Farms, Sky Down Skydiving, Piccadilly Park, 4th of July Parades and festivities, and Winter Wonderland in Caldwell. The Boise river flows through Middleton and there are many picturesque areas.

The Cottages of Middleton is led by Nicole Ellis, the Administrator with an unmatched commitment to resident care. She has been with The Cottages for thirteen years and is a true resident and caregiver advocate. Nicole has worked in several positions, and started in the long-term care field as a caregiver. She was recently nominated to be on the Board of Directors of the Idaho Health Care Association as the Secretary. The Middleton team is passionate about providing a great experience for the residents and ensuring that they receive the utmost care and life satisfaction.
