The Cottages proudly announces that Rosie Delgado was named as the 2017 HAPPEN Caregiver of the Year. The HAPPEN Caregiver of the Year award recognizes individuals throughout the Valley who provide outstanding care to those in need. These individuals go above and beyond their normal job description to enhance the quality of their patients’ lives.

Rosie has been a Caregiver for ten years and has worked for The Cottages Assisted Living and Memory Care since 2014. Rosie’s greatest asset is her big heart! She often brings a favorite candy or snacks for the residents. A few months ago she covered a shift in the kitchen and prepared a fabulous taco bar for them. Now the residents request a taco bar on a regular basis and Rosie is more than happy to oblige.

During “Snowmaggeden 2016”, there were several occasions when Rosie worked an extended shift because a co-worker could not get to work on time due to road conditions.  There were even a few nights when Rosie stayed overnight at the facility because she was concerned that she would not be able to navigate the drifting snow and arrive on time for her shift the following day. Her concern was not for her own safety but rather for the well-being of our residents if she was unable to work her scheduled shift.

Rosie was awarded with a trophy and cash award, free CPR and first aid training for the rest of her life, and a special proclamation from Governor Butch Otter acknowledging her as Caregiver of the Year. The Cottages is very proud of Rosie and appreciates all that she does for the residents, their families, and her team members. Congratulations Rosie!
